What does retention mean?
In the retention phase, you wear a night-time aligner, or we bond a wire to the inside of your teeth to make sure they do not shift back.
Once you have worn every transparent Invisalign aligner in your sets, your orthodontic treatment is complete. You now have straight teeth and a lovely smile. To make sure your teeth stay in position, we now begin the retention phase. This lasts about 1 year and ensures that your teeth do not shift back.
