The Dr. Maija Eltz Institut is a proud supporter of the Bayit Lepletot Girls Town orphanage in Jerusalem.
The Bayit Lepletot orphanage was founded in 1949 by Rabbi Naftali Rosenfeld to care for 24 young girls. Today, Bayit Lepletot is run by his son and his grandson. More than 360 girls currently call it home.
All girls who need help are taken in, regardless of their religious or social background. Some are orphans; others come from violent families or very poor circumstances, or have been abused or beaten.
Bayit Lepletot not only offers these girls protection, a roof over their heads and regular, balanced meals, but also provides a loving, emotionally healthy environment in which their emotional wounds can heal, self-esteem can be built and an independent future can become reality. Bayit Lepletot is a substitute family for these girls and takes on all the areas that parents cover in a functioning family: from buying clothes and doctor’s appointments to pursuing hobbies and holding birthday parties, right through to weddings.
Another key focus of Bayit Lepletot is a good education, which later enables the girls to lead independent lives.
